We host monthly community calls to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among community partners in our network.

These calls provide an opportunity to:

• Get Updates – Learn about the latest tech developments for conservation.

• Peer Sharing – Hear insights and experiences from other community partners.

• Workshops & Trainings – Gain hands-on knowledge about tech tools for conservation.

Jan 2026- Intro to Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification

In our January 2026 GainForest Community Call, we’re joined by Angelina Serwaa from Yale University for a practical introduction to MRV for nature projects. We explore different MRV approaches and discuss real questions from community partners, including tech costs and capacity building for implementers.

Dec 2025 - Regenerative Agroforestry & Public Goods in Practice

In this session, we heard peer-sharing stories from AgroforestDAO on Web3-enabled regenerative agroforestry, and Green Sofa Taiwan on their dashboard mapping local public-goods hypercerts. Satyam from GainForest also shared updates on Ecocert v2 and what’s coming next.

Nov 2025 - Web3 Insights & Spix’s Macaw Conservation

This session highlighted two stories of stewardship and community resilience. Maxi Fechen from Fork Forest shared how digital communities, Web3 gatherings, and the Regen House Residency helped nature stewards connect, collaborate, and strengthen community resilience. Coopera Flora Azul then presented their work in Brazil protecting the Spix’s Macaw through education and alternative livelihood programs

Oct 2025 - Agroforestry in Central Kalimantan and Polly AI for UNFCCC Climate Negotiations

In this session, the Pandu Alam Lestari Foundation shares their agroforestry work in Central Kalimantan, restoring ecosystems and supporting community livelihoods. Diego Rivera and introduces Polly, an AI tool designed to help UNFCCC negotiators access and navigate climate document.

Sept 2025 - Communities as Stewards: Planting Hope, Restoring Earth

In this call, we connected with inspiring stewards from around the world. Together4Trees Kenya shared how they nurture environmental awareness through children’s tree planting, while Agape Hand and Reforest Trees from Peru shared their community-led restoration and agroforestry journey and how they’re exploring Web3 for nature impact.

August 2025 - Restoring Lands and Giving Voice to Nature

In our community call we invited Sharrif Injamu from ACEF who shared about communities in Kenya restoring mangroves, protecting forests, and planting trees 🌱 We also invited Danilo Vaz from Rio Sagrado AI-vatar who shared an art installation that gives voice to a river under threat

July 2025 - Young Stewards Leading Regeneration

In this session, Simon Eze (Project OSISI) and Esayu Daniel (YLEC) shared their respective intiatives involving young people in Nigeria and Uganda

June 2025 - How Communities Care, Restore, and Connect

In this session, Maksym Zalevskyi (GEN Ukraine) and Ithan Sol (Project MOJA) discuss how their communities care for nature and one another through local restoration efforts. We also explore DeepGov, an AI-powered ‘politician’ designed to help evaluate projects and guide resource allocation — presented by Diego Rivera from GainForest.

May 2025 - Showcasing Your Work: A Beginner’s Guide to Impact Storytelling

In this session, Frank Hu from GreenSofa Taiwan shares how Nature Stewards can translate knowledge into action, build community, and tell powerful stories—especially for those starting out or exploring the Web3 space.

April 2025 - Stories of Impact Through Ecocert

In this community call, we invited four inspiring speakers from WOVOKA Philippines, Project Mocha in Kenya, Green Ambassadors Club in Uganda and GreenPill Taiwan to share the environmental impact they reported in their Ecocert, an environmental hypercert used to document contributions.

March 2025 - Peer-sharing on Restoration in Tanzania

We invited our Tanzanian community partners, Blue Carbon Tanzania and Bula Garden Tanzania, to share their impactful restoration work. One focuses on restoring mangrove ecosystems, while the other is planting fruit trees to support local communities. Learn about their challenges, successes, and how these efforts contribute to environmental regeneration.

February 2025 - Peer-sharing on Agroforestry

We invited Bees and Trees, Darukaa Earth, and Climatica Foundation from the GainForest Community Network to share their experiences in agroforestry. They talked about their work, their challenges, and ways to collaborate. This session is meant to support communities to learn from each other and build stronger connections.

January 2025 - Bioacoustics Data Analysis with Dr. Florencia Sangermano

We invited Dr. Florencia Sangermano, a bioacoustics expert, to explore how to analyze sound recordings from AudioMoths. Designed for community partners, this talk provides practical methods to turn bioacoustics data into meaningful conservation insights.

December 2024 - Gitcoin Grants: A Sharing on Nature Stewards' Experiences

We invited SORALO & Bees and Trees Uganda, both part of our network, to share their experience as grantees for Gitcoin Grants 22. They discussed application tips, learning web3 funding (like setting up a Metamask wallet & converting crypto), and how they'll use the funds for regeneration initiatives.

November 2024 - Lessons from Deploying AudioMoths in Sundarban Mangrove Forest, India

We invited Jaya from Darukaa Earth to share their experience deploying AudioMoths in the Sundarban mangrove forest in India. They discussed best practices, challenges faced, and insights gained, providing valuable learnings for other community partners.

October 2024 - Introduction to Drone Mapping and Collection

We invited Rodrigo, a local champion from Manaus, Brazil, to share his technical expertise in using drones for conservation. His presentation sparked interest among several community partners, who are now exploring the potential of drones for their own conservation efforts.

September 2024 - Bioacoustic Data Collection using Audiomoth in the Philippines

Oceanus Conservation from the Philippines shared their experience deploying AudioMoths to collect bioacoustic data. This was a skill they learned during our fieldwork with them early September.
