# Rewilding the Web Grant

The **Rewilding the Web Grant** is a GainForest grant delivered as part of the **Klarna AI for Climate Resilience Program**. We are selecting **10 communities or local organizations** to receive **USD 1,000 each** for capacity building, equipment, and AudioMoth bioacoustic sensor deployment.

**AudioMoth deployment is compulsory for this grant.** Every selected Project must include passive audio data collection with AudioMoth bioacoustic sensors. Biodiversity observations and Tainá are helpful optional additions, but AudioMoth must be central to your approach.

### July — applications open

Apply on a rolling basis through the Grants page. Applications close **8 August** or when all **10 spots** are filled, whichever comes first.

### Early August — selected Projects announced

Successful applicants are notified. Contracts are prepared and AudioMoth shipping or procurement is discussed.

### August Week 2 — grantee orientation

Selected grantees join an onboarding session with a platform walkthrough, Q\&A, AudioMoth deployment guidance, and next steps.

### Mid August to September — Projects begin

The **3-month Project clock** starts. Grantees deploy AudioMoth sensors, upload evidence, and post public updates on Bumicerts.

## What the grant supports

The grant helps communities and local organizations document environmental stewardship and turn fieldwork into evidence-backed Projects.

Funding can support:

* capacity building
* AudioMoth bioacoustic sensor deployment, which is required for every selected Project
* basic field equipment
* biodiversity observation workflows
* Project documentation on Bumicerts
* environmental storytelling and impact reporting

## What selected grantees need to do

Selected grantees are required to use **Bumicerts** and related tools on GainForest.app during the program. This is so the grant does not only support equipment, but also creates a public record of stewardship, learning, and evidence.

## Bioacoustic sensor support

Every selected Project must include **AudioMoth bioacoustic sensor deployment**. AudioMoth is the only bioacoustic sensor integration currently supported on GainForest.app.

GainForest can provide capacity building around:

* planning a sensor deployment
* setting up devices
* recording deployment information
* uploading sound recordings
* linking recordings to a Project as evidence
* understanding how bioacoustic data can support stewardship and impact reporting

**Important:** GainForest does **not currently provide post-data processing** for bioacoustic datasets.

This means we can support capacity building, equipment, AudioMoth deployment, uploads, and linking recordings as Project evidence — but we do not currently provide species identification, acoustic analysis, or scientific interpretation after the data is collected.

If your Project needs this kind of analysis, it is best to plan for a Project partner who can support it, such as a local authority, academic institution, researcher, conservation scientist, or biodiversity monitoring expert.
