# Polly

### What is Polly?

Polly is an AI assistant developed through a collaboration between GainForest and the [Youth Negotiators Academy (YNA)](https://www.youthnegotiators.org/) to support youth negotiators in international climate conferences, such as the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COPs). Polly specifically addresses the systemic barriers that have historically prevented the youth from effectively participating in climate negotiations by:

* Navigating technical complexity through simplified explanations of climate finance and policy concepts
* Bridging language barriers with multilingual support for document analysis and communication
* Providing rapid access to relevant historical context and precedents during time-sensitive negotiations
* Supporting the drafting and analysis of interventions in negotiation settings

At its core, Polly democratizes access to climate diplomacy by helping negotiators navigate complex climate finance concepts, analyze historical precedents, and draft interventions during time-sensitive negotiations. By combining AI capabilities with human expertise, Polly works to create more inclusive and equitable climate negotiations while empowering the next generation of climate leaders from the Global Majority.
